I have heard that some of the rules in North Carolina have changed regarding Continuing Education and the record keeping of hours? Is The Salon Spa Training Institute still qualified to teach CE courses – along with other Continuing Education Providers?

Yes. In North Carolina, The Salon Spa Training Institute has been an approved Continuing Education provider for nearly seven (7) years; however, there are presently new rules in North Carolina in which CE proposals, courses, and schedules are no longer required to be submitted the State Board. But please note that any CE course you take in North Carolina must have at least 50% cosmetic art content – and the Salon Spa Training Institute takes pride in creating innovative, creative, and empowering CE courses that have been in compliance with the State Board for nearly seven years. Additionally, the N.C. State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners no longer requires CE Providers to submit course completion hours to the Board. The State Board now requires Licensees to retain documentation of their course completion (date, time, location, type of course, course completion certificate, etc.), and Licensees are not required to wait for course hours to be submitted to The Board upon course completion. To view the official new State Board requirements, please click this link: http://www.nccosmeticarts.com/  and the new rules are posted on the State Board Website homepage.

I notice that some of your North Carolina CE courses may have a course number and some don’t.  Why is that?

As mentioned previously, The N.C. State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners no longer requires course proposals, submissions, and approval.  Therefore, course numbers are no longer issued by the Board.  Therefore, if new courses are now offered, there may not be a course number assigned. However, it is the responsibility of the Continuing Education Provider to make sure that all CE courses offered cover at least 50% of cosmetic art content.

Can The Salon Spa Training Institute represent any State Board of Cosmetology?

No. We are a Continuing Education Provider that provides CE courses for Licensees, licensed by respective State Boards of Cosmetology. All rules, laws, and regulations that Licensees follow are articulated and enforced by the respective State Boards of Cosmetology (The Salon Spa Training Institute currently serves Licensees, licensed by the North Carolina, Georgia, Nevada, and West Virginia State Boards of Cosmetology respectively).  Therefore, if you have specific questions regarding your license; licensure rules, laws, and regulations – please refer to your State Board to receive the “official answers” regarding your licensure questions.
